From science into art

I am an ecologist and conservation scientist who turned to art in retirement, primarily sketching in watercolour and ink. I started wood engraving in 2021 when a friend sent me a surprise “starter kit”. I was unconvinced but gave it a try… and was elected as a member of the Society of Wood Engravers in 2025.  My work is all about the outdoors - geology, landscape, nature - primarily of Scotland and Yorkshire. I like mountains.

I created this site to sell the prints I make from my engravings. You will find a scattering of ink and watercolour sketches too, primarily in the “Sketches” pages. Some of these are for sale and I take commissions if the subject appeals to me. Get in touch if interested.
